Hi! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the new owner of SWRolodex.com.
It’s been a busy couple of months working on the business handover and getting into the swing of things, but I wanted to finally take a moment to say hello! I’m Merrick Monroe, and as you may already know, I have a pretty diverse background and have worn a lot of hats over the years. I’ve done a fair amount of creative freelancing including graphic and web design, photography, and business consulting, and I’ve managed multiple brick-and-mortar retailers as well as online storefronts. I’m also an active (online) sworker, with experience in running my own paysites, subscription platforms, and doing content creation. All of this comes together to give me a lot of insight into both the needs and the concerns of freelancers and sworkers!
Currently, I reside in Portland, Oregon, USA, with my rescue pup Irma von Pince-Nugget, some snakes, and a cantankerous 16yo cat named Manju. I’m a Pisces Sun, Aquarius Moon, Libra Rising (and it shows). Don’t worry, this is probably the most I’ll ever talk about myself—though I might do some editorializing now and then. But I wanted you to know there’s a real human behind the curtain, not some mysterious corporate entity.
I’m excited to work with all of you and to continue to expand SWRolodex.com. Over the next several months I’ll mostly be working behind the scenes on the Rolodex, tweaking site performance and making sure the day-to-day goes smoothly while getting to know this awesome community. I’m also working on an updated version of the site and I hope to add more features and assets that will improve your experience here and bring even more benefits to being a user! But that’s still a ways off, and I’ll make sure to let you know before any major changes are made.
I can also tell you that I’m planning on making more updates like this one, and developing a blog full of content relevant to both sworkers and the freelancers who support them!
Please do not ever hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns, or ask for some extra guidance in using the site! I’d love the opportunity to get to know users more directly and hear about what I can do to make your experience better.
Lastly, I want to say that I am honored that the site’s founder, Dalma Rosa, has entrusted me to take over this amazing resource. She created something special when she started the Rolodex, which I could see when I began using the service myself. When I heard that she was looking for someone to take over operations, I immediately reached out. Over the course of our conversations, I gained a lot of insight into everything this website already is and does for its community, and I got even more excited about everything it could become. So thank you Dalma for all the work and innovation you’ve invested in the Rolodex to date!
