Moving into our Hustle Era: Introducing Hustle to Hire

SWRolodex, founded in 2021 as a by sex worker/for sex worker freelancer resource hub, is evolving into Hustle to Hire, LLC. By sex workers, for everyone. 🧡

The SWRolodex website is entering an exciting new era! Since 2021, this unique freelancer marketplace has connected sworkers with talented, safer freelancers and digital business resources, building a network that empowers and uplifts independent creators. With over 200 successful jobs completed, 1,000+ registered users, and an impressive 98% of 5-star reviews, we’ve proven that a resource like this is desired by the community!

Now, after almost 4 years of business, I’m thrilled to share the next chapter with you—a rebranded experience that will create increased opportunities to strengthen our community during a time when so much seems uncertain.

Some of you have been here since the site’s inception in 2021, others have just recently arrived. But you’re here, which most likely means you’re either ready to work, ready to grow your businesses, or ready to get your hustle on! (Maybe all three?) And it means that you, too, see the potential of this site in helping people do that. Over the coming months I’ll be releasing a series of articles discussing my motivations; what’s changing, why it’s changing, how it affects you, etc. Everything will be available to read on the blog after being published here in the Behind the Hustle newsletter.

For now, I want to cover the two most immediate questions: what’s changing, and what’s staying the same? Let’s dive in below.

💖

End of an era, but a new day is dawning

🧡

What’s Changing

Honestly, I was waiting to lock in on a new name before doubling down on any of this restructuring work, so that’s probably the best change to start with! And now that that first piece has fallen into place, I’ve started to shift some of the social media to the new name (are you on Bluesky? HustletoHire.com is on Bluesky!); other apps/accounts will be catching up soon.

I’ve also thrown together some loose brand graphics to use for the next few months on offsite stuff like social media and the newsletter, maybe in this blog as I begin writing about the rebranding process and the work being done behind the scenes. Eventually, I’ll hire a proper designer to do up some branding, but as we know perfection is the enemy of progress! And yes, I’m moving from a vibrant classic pink to a luscious, energetic orange.

And perhaps most importantly: I will update the payment/payout process as I get business accounts set up under the new LLC name, moving the marketplace and its users beyond payment apps and making things a little bit (read: A Lot) more profesh. These new options will put you in control of how to pay for outsourcing gigs, as well as when and how freelancers get paid for each job well done!

What’s Staying the Same

For now, it’s business as usual. The SWRolodex marketplace and website will continue to operate as-is. The look of the website or the URL on the current marketplace site will NOT be changing until the full relaunch; it doesn’t make sense to rebrand such a large site when we can all just move into a nice fresh Hustle to Hire version of the site in mid-2025! Trust me, it’s going to be worth the wait.

And I hope this is obvious but it merits saying nonetheless: the core goal of providing safer business resources to marginalized niche workers–and I DO mean the spicy content creators, the mattress actresses, the “accountants”--is not going to change. That’s the whole foundation of this work and THE reason this website and marketplace exists!

Stay tuned for more…

As most of y’all know, I’m a spicy creator myself. I know firsthand that working in any niche industry with high specialized skills isn’t easy, and I know what a big difference community support can make. And finding, protecting, and working with community is going to become even more vital in the coming years as so many of us continue to face social stigmas and political legislation.

Here’s some of what I’ll be talking about in the months ahead:

  • What the name “Hustle to Hire” means to me
  • Broadening our horizons: what it means to be by sex workers, for everyone
  • Vanilla Accounting: getting real about the numbers and what’s in store
  • More than just a rebrand, how I’m working to restructure behind the scenes
  • Fun new things: the Big site changes coming in version 2
  • Security matters: How H2H is keeping you safe, both as a user and a business
  • Building a tech-stack fit for a solopreneur: my fave apps and services
  • The outsource talent I’m hiring (or want to hire…) to get the job done
  • Planning the (re)launch: from rebranding to crowdfunding to going live(!)

The best way to stay in the loop on all these topics is to subscribe to the Behind the Hustle newsletter but all this info will also be discussed across socials and here on the website’s blog. I’m truly excited to have begun work on this new direction for the site, and to get into the nitty gritty details about it with you!

I know it can seem like dark times ahead and, to be sure, the future is not without its challenges. But at the same time… I’ve never been more resolved to take on this work in cementing the website as a resource for the underdogs, the marginalized, and those of us who are truly willing to hustle for our keep.

As always, I’d love to hear from you! Whether this news has you hyped or the change makes you anxious, lemme hear it: shoot me a line at talk @ hustletohire.com or hit "reply" on any of the rebranding newsletters I send out! Much of what’s ahead has been shaped by direct feedback I’ve received from site users over the years as well as what’s happening in the world at large, and it’s always good to hear where other folks’ heads are at (hey, maybe it’ll turn into a future newsletter…). Otherwise…

Talk soon!
